MACEDON, Thessalonica. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (25mm, 10.16 g, 8h). Pythia Epinikia Games issue. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Agonistic crown inscribed ΠVΘIA containing palm frond; ЄΠI NI above; below, KIA above star. Touratsoglou – (V27/R–; unlisted reverse die). VF, green patina, minor encrustation, centering hole on reverse. Very rare.
